Call of duty 4 Freeze XBOX 360 is this NORMAL?

I was playing COD 4 today, I installed it on my Hard Drive, so when I start playing the disc won’t spin. Anyways, I went on xbox live, playing some crazy team deathmatch games, and all of a sudden when those nuke things hit the ground causing my controller to vibrate, all of a sudden the screen froze for like 3 seconds. Is this NORMAL?? The disc is completely clean, no scratches. I have the latest xbox 360 the 60gb model, got it for Christmas.

also if it helps, my 360 is lying horizontal, and I was only playing for 40 minutes when it happened.

    I got my 360 returned to Microsoft for the Red Ring of Death, but ever since it’s been working fine. Then again, no game should make your console freeze up.

    This also happens to me. The disk isn’t suppose to spin since its running solely off thehard-drivee. Mine always unfreezes and i have my box lying horizontal also. sometimes the drive speed and ram on the systemaren’tt good enough and miss a beat trying to keep up with your game and loading info from the server. I haven’t had this trouble with my other games running off the hard drive yet though.

    Check to see if the Game DVD itself is defective. It may not be your 360

    Any freezing is not ‘normal’ but it does happen. Some games do have glitches and faults that may cause them to freeze and such. I have never had a problem with Call of Duty, but when i play Fallout 3 i have had it freeze about 5 or 6 times now. If it is freezing at an exact point every single time, you have an issue. other that that, you shouldnt worry about it.

    just a temporary freeze…. like you didn’t have to reset the console… right?

    it’s probably just a high load part of the game and the system has trouble with it… it’s not “cool”… but it happens…

    if you’re playing online… it could also be someone else’s internet connection… if someone has a poor connection it can freeze everyone’s play…

    COD4 is fun lol. Anyway the xbox360 is not suppose to freeze, but i happens alot. If it barely freezes i wouldn’t worry bout it, but if it annoying u or constantly freezing, ill contact microsoft.

    just get rid of the xbox and buy a ps3
