PC Gaming or Xbox 360 Gaming???

February 8th, 2011 Janet 3 comments

A couple of years ago when I was 13 I was reading about the process of building pc’s, and decided I wanted to do that myself, so I saved up my money all summer and I bought all the parts and followed the guide in a magazine and built my pc. It was great and all, but now it’s two years later and my pc is out of date. After purchasing windows vista, my games began to run even slower, and now I can’t run anything at all with a good framerate.

I was frustrated so last christmas I asked for an xbox 360. I knew I wouldn’t have to worry about game/hardware compatability. It’s fun, but I play on a crappy 20″ tv. I also really haven’t found any game’s that truly grabbed my attention. There was one game i particular though, that I absolutely loved. Elder scrolls Oblivion holds the spot as my favorite video game ever, but it’s also available on PC. I happened to play it on 360.

So now I’ve got two choices, I can upgrade my PC or get new speakers and stuff for my 360.

???
Here’s the status for me on both platforms for those of you who care:

PC

Geforce 7900GT
Amd Athlon 64 3000+ (939)
Nforce 4 SLI edition
2gb DDR400
80GB HD
600w psu
16″ CRT monitor
My case has broken and disfunctional usb ports along with a broken cover on the front, I would need a new one.
Favorite Game: Half-Life 2
Others: Guild Wars, BF2142

Xbox 360

Premium Console
20″ Flat Tube SDTV
w/built in crappy speakers
gaming chair w/ crappy speakers (don’t use)

I fell more immersed when I play on my PC, but I just don’t know about the cost….
360 Favorite Game: Elder Scrolls Oblivion
Others: Call of Duty 4, Gears

The Xbox 360 Gaming System – Is It Still The King Of The Hill

October 11th, 2010 Janet No comments

The new Xbox 360 system is the next thing in video games of today. You can still play regular Xbox games and watch DVDs on it but it is so much better then the regular Xbox for many reasons. I first bought the Xbox to play games like Madden Football and Metal Gear but once the came out with the first Halo I was really hooked so needless to say when the new Xbox 360 came out it was a must have video game system for me.
If you are serious about your gaming you will want to upgrade some of the basic accessories that come with the system for better performance. Below are some of the many accessories that you can buy for your Xbox or soon to be Xbox.
Even though you will not need a memory stick or card for the Xbox because you have a 20GB hard drive it is good to have in case you need to take your saved progress with you some place. To keep your controllers charged you can buy a charge station so that when you are not using one controller the battery pack for the other will be charging so you can just switch off and on like that.
You can get a wireless adapter so you don’t have to worry about cables and such and you can also buy your Xbox an intercooler so it will stay nice and cool while you are playing the games you love.
There are all kinds of controllers that you can buy for your Xbox such as either wireless extra controllers or you can pick from the many different wired controllers that they are now offering these days.
You can also get the HD cables if you have an HDTV all you do is either order them or go buy them from the local gaming store. These accessories are a need if you are a big gamer and might be the key to your gaming.
Some of the games available for the system in addition to my favorite Halo 3 are Meet the Robinsons and Star Trek Legacy for kids and then some of my favorite shooter games like Rainbow Six, Gears Of War, and Hitman. Of course there are also the nearly enumerable sports games as well for those of us who are sports nuts.
I am a little prejudiced when it comes to Xbox because I have owned a version of the system for many years and have played the games on my big screen but I still think you can’t go wrong with the new Xbox 360 if you are a serious gamer. With the option of getting a subscription to Xbox Live it really leaves nothing to be desired.

The Ultimate Gaming System the Super Powerful Xbox 360 by Microsoft

October 8th, 2010 Janet No comments

Computer gaming has definitely come a long way from back in 1972 when the game of choice was pong and played on the Atari 2600. Modern technology and video game enhancements have made gaming a serious hobby and a high-tech one as well.

If you have been keeping up with all the advances in the field of computer gaming, you will realize how these advances have been consistent with the advances of high-end technology. Computer gaming has pushed the limits of technology and is credited for many of the advancements in this field for the past generation.

The Xbox 360 is a top performer of this high-powered, top-technology trend. The Xbox 360, from Microsoft is a prime example of how technology has pushed the frontiers of gaming. With a processing power and connectivity that most high end personal computers could only dream of, the Xbox has opened a vista of possibilities never before possible on the older consoles.

Here is a brief rundown of the new features of the Xbox 360.

1. Games that take advantage of the Xbox have increased power and graphical performance. Project Gotham 3, Perfect Dark Zero, Silent Hill 4 and Kameo are only a few of the new games slated to hit the Xbox 360 this year. These games will certainly push the envelope with what is expected of newer generation games.

2. Innovative Accessories. The Xbox has accessories that will make other companies go, I wish I had thought of that. Wireless controllers will allow greater freedom for players to wreak havoc upon the competition. This gives players increased mobility, comfort and enjoyment.

Xbox also integrates internet connectivity so that gaming against a pal who lives across the country or another continent will not have to be a hassle anymore. It is now possible to have search and destroy games among the Xbox community, and you do not even have to leave the confines of your home.

3. Backward Compatibility. The old Xbox games will be fully compatible with the 360. That will amount to over 200 well-loved games from the old Xbox library. This means you will not have to wait for the 360 library to go full stock before wanting to buy one; you could enjoy the old collection along with the new immediately.

4. Mega Power. The Xbox 360 engine runs on three 3.2 GHZ processors. That is a powerful workhorse! This processing power makes the running of complex games a cinch. Many polygon-hungry games will get their fill once they get a load of this much power.

5. Couple that with the 500 MHz ATI graphics processor and you have a tremendously powerful chip that can bring life and action to any game that comes its way.

6. The Xbox 360 is versatile and not only serves as a gaming base, but it also works as a CD/DVD player, further making a case for its price. The Xbox is capable of keeping track of a load of data that you may find indispensable. All these extra features ensure that the Xbox 360 can and will be a faithful entertainment tech companion for a long, long time.

While there are many gaming consoles around, it would pay to consider the strengths and weaknesses of them all. However, there is a consensus among gaming enthusiasts that the most important aspect of any gaming console is the technology, processor speed, memory, storage, along with availability and support of consoles and games.

In this regard, the Xbox 360 has room to boast. With a staff of developers currently at work for Microsoft enhancing the Xbox, gamers are sure to be spellbound for years to come.

Xbox Games For Online Gaming That Mom And Dad Should Understand

September 14th, 2010 Janet No comments

In case your kid has an Xbox and they play online you will often here them either yelling in the TV or speaking with you about how awesome it is. You will often see your kid wanting to play role playing games or shooting games because they like the action and shooting. If you love playing Halo then you’ll love that can be played that types of game online. Your kid probably already plays it that is certainly what he can be trying to tell you forever.

If you have had a computer and an internet connection you can play any online game as long as you have a subscription so you can make an account. I play Counterstrike and I love it. You just get online and start playing with your friends from the game. You may make friends fast online if you play a decent amount. The more you play the better you are likely to get. Most kids that play computer games on the internet play the most insane hours that you are likely to ever hear. Kids somehow find a way playing more then 50 hours a week. It is in the stats on Counterstrike if you were to look.

The other types of activities that you might find your students or kids playing is the flash games on the internet. While at school I used agressively play the flash games after I did my work because I had a computer class and I had computers in some of my other classes. We would get online and look for some that were fun until school was out and we could go get on the real servers and play real online games.

Should you have an Xbox or a Sony Play Station then you probably already learn about online gaming. All you do is sign up for the service and you play the types that are online enabled. Most online games are like Gears of War and Halo 3. You can also find shooter types like Call of Duty I think they actually just came out with a new Call of Duty called Modern Warfare. I heard it was a good one but I am not sure if it is online enabled. Although I am pretty sure that you play it on the net because most of these games you can play online. They are pretty fun you usually just go out and start shooting up the other team. There are role playing games and such like that but they don’t tend to make them for internet play although they do have a few of them I think like Final Fantasy and games like those. I am not really into the whole anime theme like the fable games and stuff; online gaming is for shooters i’ll suggest you to.
